The Community Cup: A Cup With Other Managers, in Your Own Time

The Community Cup is KAISER's cup against other managers. Everyone in a cup drafts their own team from the same edition's all-time greats, and then every team meets in one competition. Nobody needs to be online at the same time: you join whenever you like, pick your team whenever suits you, and the results come to you.

How it works

  1. Join an open cup, or start your own. Open the Community Cup, choose an edition and you see your cups and the open ones.
  2. Pick your team any time before the deadline. A cup stays open for 24 hours. Draft your squad, set your formation and style, and you are in.
  3. The cup plays out when it is full or the time runs out. Empty places go to bots, and the results arrive as a notification.

Joining a cup

There are three ways in:

  • Join the next cup. One tap puts you in the fullest open cup of the edition you chose, so it kicks off sooner. If there is none, it starts a new one.
  • Open cups. Browse the cups that are waiting for managers, see how many have joined and how long is left, and pick one.
  • Create a cup. Name it, choose the bracket size and whether it is public or private, then share the room code with your friends. Anyone with the code can join.

The Community Cup runs in thirteen editions: Germany, Brazil, Spain, Italy, England, France, Argentina, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea, Türkiye and the USA. Every edition is its own pool, so a Brazilian cup is drafted only from Brazil's all-time players. You can be in several cups at once, in different editions.

Picking your team

Each manager drafts independently from the edition's all-time pool, the same players you can browse in the player database. Choose your squad, then your formation, team style and tactics, just as you would in a season. Submit it and your cup shows Your team is in. You can still change your team until the cup kicks off, so if a better idea comes to you on the bus, go back and tweak it.

The usual draft rules matter here even more, because you only get one cup to prove it. Fill every position with a natural, think about how your formation and your tactics fit together, and remember that a cup rewards a strong first eleven over depth. Our guides to formations and tactics are a good warm-up.

Kick-off and results

A cup kicks off as soon as it is full and every manager has picked a team, or when the 24 hours run out, whichever comes first. Any place still empty goes to a bot, a real club from that edition, so a cup always has a full bracket. If nobody picked a team before the deadline, the cup is cancelled.

Teams are drawn into groups of four, the top two of each group go through, and from there it is single-match knockout football all the way to the final. When the results are in you get a notification. Open the cup and you can watch your run match by match, or skip straight to the final standings.

Every match is decided from the cup's own seed, so the results are the same on every device. Nobody gets a different outcome by watching or skipping, and every manager sees exactly the same bracket.

Your cups at a glance

The My cups list shows where each cup stands:

  • Pick your team. You have joined but not submitted a team yet.
  • Team in, waiting. Your team is in and the cup is filling up.
  • Results are in. The cup has been played. Open it to see how far you went.
  • Cancelled. Nobody picked a team in time.

Trophies and honours

Win a Community Cup and the trophy goes into your cabinet. There is a full set of Community Cup honours to chase as well, including:

  • Community Champion. Win a Community Cup.
  • Beat the Managers. Win a Community Cup with at least one other human in it.
  • Full House. Win a Community Cup with four or more human managers.
  • Globetrotter. Play Community Cups in three different editions.
  • Never Sleeps. Finish five cups you joined with Join the next cup.
  • Cup Regular, Cup Fanatic and Cup Institution for playing 5, 10 and 25 cups, and Community Legend for winning 10.

Tips

  • Pick early. The cup can kick off the moment it fills up, and a team that is in can still be changed until then.
  • Bring friends. Create a private cup and share the code: a cup with other humans is worth more honours than one full of bots.
  • Try different editions. Each pool plays differently, and Globetrotter rewards it.
